Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has issued a high alert in Bolangir, Mayurbhanj, Sambalpur, and Puri districts due to heavy rainfall, which may lead to low visibility, submergence of roads and bridges, and inundation of low-lying areas.
The Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) has instructed the collectors of these districts to take immediate action. They have been asked to use pumps for dewatering, clear drainage channels, and evacuate people from low-lying areas if necessary.
The SRC has directed the collectors to respond to the situation immediately, ensuring the safety of the people in the affected areas.
Residents in the affected districts are advised to remain vigilant and take necessary precautions to ensure their safety.
“It is ascertained that there is heavy rainfall in Bolangir, Mayurbhanj, Sambalpur and Puri districts. There is a possibility of low visibility, submergence of roads/ bridges and inundation of low-lying areas. It is instructed to use pumps for dewatering, clearance of the drainage channel and evacuate people of the low-lying areas if required. The Special Relief Commissioner directed the Collectors to respond to the situation immediately”, read the letter issued by SRC.
