Puri: Devotees from across the globe, invited to witness the inauguration of the Srimandir Parikrama Prakalpa in Puri, express overwhelming awe.

“It was very nice, something beyond my dreams. We were spellbound. Today was the inauguration and we were doing the parikrama of the shrine, it was all due to the blessings of Jagannath ji. Nothing happens without His will,” stated an overwhelmingly happy Sushmita Rajhansha, who had come from Shree Jagannatha Temple, City of Bath, United Kingdom to attend the Srimandir Parikrama Prakalpa inauguration.

Another devotee, Arun Kumar Praharaj, a native of Odisha but a resident of the Kingdom of Bahrain sharing his experience said, “Being a native of Odisha I have visited Shree Mandir innumerable times, I am a devotee of Mahaprabhu Jagannath but today’s experience of joy was something unprecedented”.

“Doing the parikrama (circumambulation) of the temple and then having darshan of Mahaprabhu Jagannath in this manner was not possible for the last 200 years. Today it has become possible due to the efforts of revered Gajapati Maharaja and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik. I want to congratulate and thank them from the core of my heart,” said Praharaj.

Mahaprabhu Jagannath is the Lord of the Universe, nothing happens, not even a leaf turns without His will. So definitely it is due to His blessings and it is a gift for the devotees from all over the world, Praharaj added.

“This Parikrama project is a big positive change for the devotees of Jagannath ji. Now elderly devotees can do parikrama. Earlier, it was also difficult for young people like us to do parikrama because the circumstances were such. It is all due to the blessings of Jagannath ji,” said another devotee from the City of Bath, UK, who had come to witness the inauguration of the Srimandir Parikrama Prakalpa.
