Bhubaneswar: Servitors of the Puri Jagannath Temple are undergoing a two-day training programme to improve their behaviour and conduct towards devotees. The training camp, organized at the Niladri Bhakta Nivas, aims to instil good manners and discipline among the servitors.
The initiative comes amid complaints from devotees about the behaviour of the temple servants. The training program, supervised by the Chief Administrator of the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration Dr Arabinda Kumar Padhee and District Collector Siddharth Shankar Swain focuses on ten key attributes of a good servitor, including dedication, purity, discipline, and selflessness.
The seminar was inaugurated by the Chief Administrator, District Collector, and SP of Puri. On the first day, discussions centred around the qualities of a good servitor, disciplined policy, and service. The second day’s agenda includes the role of servitors in disciplined darshan, devotee services, and coordination between administration and servitors.
The training program is expected to bring about a positive change in the behaviour of the servitors, ensuring a more pleasant experience for devotees visiting the temple.
