Bhubaneswar: Odisha has reported ‘Highest point decline in the country in Infant Mortality Rate, with 39 point decline from 2005 to 2020. This was revealed from the Sample Registration System (SRS) Bulletin of Registrar General of India (RGI), which was released on Thursday.
As per the latest publication of SRS bulletin, 2020, Odisha’s IMR now stands at 36/1000 live birth. Odisha has reported ‘Highest point decline in the country in IMR, with 39 point decline from 2005 to 2020.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik shared the information with senior officials at a Mo Sarkar review meeting here today and congratulated the stakeholders for the milestone.
The CM congratulated Health and Family Welfare, Women and Child Welfare, Mission Shakti Departments and Team Odisha on the occasion. He exhorted one and all to participate in the success journey of the State and achieve bigger feats.
