Stalemate Continues In Odisha Assembly Over Mamita Meher Murder Case

Bhubaneswar: Stalemate continued in the Odisha Assembly for the seventh consecutive day as both the opposition and ruling party members created a ruckus in the House leading to adjournment of proceedings.

As soon as the House assembled for the day at 10.30 a.m., opposition BJP and Congress members rushed to the Well holding placards and banners. They shouted slogans reiterating their demand for the removal of the Minister of State (MoS) for Home, Dibya Shankar Mishra over Mamita Meher’s murder case.

Wearing black ‘gamucha’, BJP members beat gongs and bells and showed placards as a mark of protest. The Congress legislators also continued flaunting placards demanding the removal of Mishra from the council of ministers.

Amid the ruckus, Speaker Surjya Narayan Patro adjourned the House till 11:30 AM.
