Bhubaneswar: Taking into account the crisis in Ukraine and a number of Odia students in need of evacuation, the Odisha Government has appointed four special representatives for as many nations.
According to an order issued by the Chief Secretary, Vikramaditya, vice-president, KIIT and KISS University will look after evacuation from Poland and overall coordination.
Arushi Ray, Senior TDPS Officer, GLDC, UNHCR has been assigned the responsibility of Hungary while Baishali Mohanty, UN Policy Officer, WFP, ROME has been designated as Special Representative for Romania.
Similarly, Anurag Patnaik, a Hungary-based Consultant will be looking after the evacuation of Odia students through Slovakia.
Owing to the crisis, a number of Odia students are stranded in war-prone zones of Ukraine. They need to be evacuated. The special representatives will coordinate with the Resident Commissioner and respective countries to ensure smooth evacuation, the order stated.
