Bhubaneswar: The State Government on Tuesday appointed Saroj Kumar Samal as the Director of the Information and Public Relations Department. Samal (IAS (SCS- 2012)) was the Collector of Jharsuguda prior to this posting.
A notification issued by the General Administration & Pension Grievance (GA & PG) Department stated: The post of Director, I&PR is declared equivalent in status and responsibility of Joint Secretary in the IAS cadre of the State.
On the other hand, the incumbent Director of the I&PR Department, Indramani Tripathy (IAS (SCS – 2011)) has been appointed as Additional Secretary to ST&SC Development, Minorities & Backward Classes Welfare Department.
Tripathy is allowed to continue as Director of Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes Research and Training Institute (SCSTRTI), the notification stated.
