Bargarh: Stern action will be taken against those involved in vandalism at Ambabhona police station on Sunday, informed Bargarh SP Prahlad Sahai Meena.
“A case has been registered in Ambabhona police station against more than 100 people in connection with vandalism at the police station yesterday. Investigation is underway. People involved in the incident will be identified and stern action will be taken against them,” said Meena on Monday.
Speaking on Sunday’s vandalism at the Ambabhona police station, Meena informed that the IIC of the police station had received information that ganja was being smuggled in a vehicle and accordingly it was checked by the police.
He said that during the checking there was an altercation between the people in the vehicle and the police as no ganja was found. Following the altercation an irate mob ransacked the police station.
The mob smashed furniture, CCTV cameras and some other articles in the police station, he added.
