Bhubaneswar: The STF of Odisha police with the help of Angul police nabbed three persons for storing and selling ganja. They recovered and seized 161 kg of ganja and other incriminating documents from the possession of the accused.
According to the STF, acting on intelligence input a joint team of the STF and Angul police raided Chandrapur village under Athamalik police limits in Angul district on Sunday night and arrested Sarmit Urma, Rohit Behera, and Sunil Deep.
A case has been registered on the basis of the STF report at Athamalik police station for necessary legal action. This refers to Athamalik police station Case No.131 dated 11.06.2023 under Section 20(b)(ii)(c)/29 of NDPS Act 1985. Investigation into the case is underway.
The STF has seized more than 69 kg of brown sugar/heroin, 202 gm cocaine, and more than 115 quintals of ganja/marijuana, 750 gm of opium 750 and arrested more than 172 drug dealers/peddlers since 2020.
