Bhubaneswar: The Special Task Force of Odisha Crime Branch today arrested one Akhaya Baliarsingh from Orabarsingh under Jankia police limits on charges of drug trading.
Baliarsingh was apprehended by the STF during a raid at an undisclosed location on Orabarsingh – Jatni road. Around 320 grams of brown sugar and other incriminating materials were seized from his possession.
The STF booked Baliarsingh under Sections 21 (c) and 29 of the Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, and investiating further.
“In 2020, the agency has seized brown sugar weighing 23.60 kilograms (approximately) and resgistered 26 drug-related cases. So far, 50 drug peddlers have been arrested this year,” an STF official informed.
