Bhubaneswar: The Special Task Force has recommended to the Competent Authority, Kolkata, for the seizure of property worth Rs 3 crore belonging to drug dealers. According to the STF, the accused Arun Kumar Pradhan and Banamali Pradhan acquired assets to the tune of Rs 3 crore from narcotics business.
The duo belongs to Buguda region of Ganjam and are involved in Ganja and Opium business. On April 29, the seized a huge quantity of contraband from the possession of the duo following which a case was registered.
Seized properties include five commercial buildings situated at Buguda, 8 landed properties, bank balance in 19 accounts, 2 vehicles and gold & silver ornaments weighing 595 grams and 190 grams respectively. The buildings have been evaluated by PWD R&B, Buguda, the STF stated.
The accused persons were earlier booked in similar cases by Excise Department.
