Bhubaneswar: The Special Task Force (STF) of Odisha Crime Branch seized more than 33 tons of Hard Coke, two trucks, one JCB, and other incriminating materials during raids at Sanaghati under Khalikote Police Station in Ganjam district on the intervening night of Tuesday and Wednesday.
Based on intelligence input regarding the storage/transportation of illegal stolen Hard Coke, the STF conducted the raids with the help of Ganjam Police and seized the above materials. Seven accused persons were also apprehended during the raids.
Three of the accused persons namely Balia Nayak alias Sridhar and Uttam Behera of Ganjam district, and Saroj Sahoo of Cuttack belong to Odisha while two other accused persons Hari Singh and Shivam Sharma are natives of Madhya Pradesh. The remaining two Israil Wasir Mohammed Ullah and Rama Lohar are from Maharashtra.
A case in this regard has been registered at Khalikote Police Station and an investigation is underway.
