**Cuttack/ Bhubaneswar:** A day after Odisha Chief Miinster Naveen Patnaik ordered a probe into the sting operation that exposed four ruling BJD MLAs allegedly negotiating with industrialists for hefty sum of favour money, the State Vigilance on Wednesday formed five teams for the purpose.
Talking to media here on Wednesday, Vigilance Director R.P. Sharma said, “Five teams have been formed initially to probe into the incident and each team have been entrusted with a specific assignment. Options for formation of more teams are open depending on the outcome and necessity”.
Reiterating that the State Vigilance would conduct a fair and an impartial probe into the incident, the Vigilance Director informed, “The original audio and video clippings of the sting operation flashed would be sent for forensic analysis since it is necessary from the legal point of view to verify the authenticity of the tapes”.
All the persons involved in it will also be interrogated and facts will be cross- checked as the main focus will be on bringing out the truth, Sharma added.
In another major development on the day, the Odisha unit of BJP lodged an FIR with the Capital Police Station against the four BJD MLAs and the Chief Minister under the Prevention of Corruption Act 1988.
BJP state vice president Samir Mohanty in his FIR on behalf of the party stated, “The MLAs seem to be mere prawn while the BJD State President and Chief Minister is the conspirator and abetter”.
