**Rayagada**: A minor boy has suffered horrific burns after a street vendor alleged thrown hot ‘chaat’ (snacks) on his face after he demanded his daily wage in the district.
The incident happened at Convent Road in Raygada on Saturday, but the matter came to light on Sunday following a complaint lodged by the victim’s family.
According to reports, the boy, Charan Huika, used to work at the ‘chaat’ stall, but his owner allegedly threw hot ‘chaat’ at him when he reportedly asked for his remuneration.
“I asked him for my wages. He threw hot chaat on me while I was sitting on a chair,” the victim said.
The victim’s mother has lodged an FIR at Raygada police station seeking stern action against the accused.
Following the complaint, the Labour Department took up the matter and started investigation into the matter.
Meanwhile, the accused is absconding after the incident.
