**Bhubaneswar: ** As the State unit of BJP led by its vice-president Sameer Mohanty lodged its complaint against Odisha Finance and Agriculture Minister’s statement on KALIA amid the model code of conduct, ruling BJD today strongly condemned and dubbed it as an anti-farmer stance.
Talking to media, BJD spokesperson Sasmit Patra burst, “It was heard and seen that BJP is against the farmers of Odisha. Today it was proved.”
He argued, “The Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of Odisha has already made it clear that KALIA Yojana and like such schemes in which the beneficiaries are there, this election will not hinder them reaping the benefits in any ways.”
He fumed, “In spite of the clear statement by the Odisha CEO, the BJP today submitted memorandum protesting it. It means they are conspiring against the the KALIA beneficiaries of Odisha.”
He added, “40 lakh farmers of Odisha and their families would have been convinced today about the mindset and attitude of BJP. If Agriculture Minister Shri Sashi Bhusan Behera has given any statement on KALIA, it has been made after the CEO’s seal of approval.”
“BJD strongly condemns such a stance of BJP,” the spokesperson remarked.
