Sundargarh: A Class XI student of Eklavya Model Residential School at Bhawanipur in Sundargarh collapsed and died while participating in the 400-meter relay race at the school’s annual sports event.
The deceased student has been identified as Jaydeep Sagar Beka.
According to reports, Jaydeep, a resident of Bhawanipur block, had been enrolled in school only six months ago. He was running in the first round of the relay when he suddenly fell to the ground.
The school authorities immediately rushed him to the Sundargarh Government Medical College and Hospital, where he was declared dead by the doctors.
The sudden demise of the young student has left the school and the community in shock. Jaydeep’s mother is reportedly devastated by the news.
The incident has drawn condolences from various officials, including the school principal, District Welfare Officer, and ITDA Project Administrator, who visited the hospital to express their grief.
