Angul: A Class IX student from Hulursinga village in Angul district of Odisha has been selected to participate in the NASA Space Settlement Contest for his ingenious project which can reach out to people in need of immediate medical aid in remote areas.

Son of a bag seller Laxman Nayak and Sulochana, Subhranshu Nayak has developed a Mavic drone to visit the places inaccessible for a doctor. Through it a patient or injured person can receive first aid and also consult a doctor via the camera installed on the device.

Subhranshu had submitted his project on Space Settlement awards platform and got a chance to participate in the annual contest. Around 138 participants from across the globe including two from India are invited to visit NASA’s Space Settlement Centre at Washington to give a detailed briefing of their projects on December 1.
