Sonepur: The Subalaya NAC Action Committee called a 12-hour shutdown in protest against the state government’s failure to declare Subalaya a NAC (Notified Area Council) – a status the previous administration had granted.
The protesters alleged that the previous state government had declared Subalaya a Notified Area Council (NAC), but the new administration withdrew the notification. Disappointed over the government’s inaction, angered locals have taken to the streets to press for reinstatement of the NAC status.
The move follows public discontent over the reversal, with protesters chanting slogans and picketing at various spots. Shops, markets, schools, colleges and vehicular movement have all come to a standstill, except essential services which remain operational.
