Bhubaneswar: The second instalment of funds under the Subhadra Yojana will be released on March 8, benefiting approximately 1 crore women, informed Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida on Friday.
The funds will be distributed during a special event in Berhampur on International Women’s Day.
“At least 1 crore women will receive their funds through direct transfer under the Subhadra Yojana on March 8. We’ve successfully met our target of 1 crore beneficiaries, and I am proud to say that one crore women will have their funds deposited directly into their bank accounts during a special event in Berhampur”, Parida told newspersons.
It is pertinent to mention that the Subhadra scheme was launched on September 17, 2024, following the formation of the BJP government in Odisha. Initially, 25 women beneficiaries received Rs 5,000 in their bank accounts in the first phase. The scheme’s scope expanded significantly, with around 39 lakh women benefiting in the second phase on October 9, 2024. Further disbursements followed, with 20 lakh women receiving funds in the third phase on November 24, 2024, and an additional 18 lakh women beneficiaries receiving Rs 5,000 on February 8, 2025.
