Bhubaneswar: One crore women from across the state have enrolled for the Subhadra Yojana so far, said Odisha Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida on Monday.
The Subhadra Yojana is the flagship woman empowerment programme of the Mohan Majhi-led Odisha government
Parida, who is also the Women and Child Development Minister, informed that of the one crore women, 32 lakh have been tagged MPCI eligible beneficiaries. All beneficiaries, enlisted as eligible beneficiaries by October 7, will be given the first installment of Rs 5,000 on October 9 under the Subhadra Yojana.
Parida further informed that the applications received by the state government will be scrutinised thoroughly and eligible ones will be given the first installment of Rs 5,000 by December.
The beneficiaries, who are scheduled to receive the first installment in the second phase on October 9, will be given a token money of Re 1 in their bank account on Monday. On October 9, they will be given Rs the rest amount of Rs 4,999, she said.
