Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government on Saturday released the second installment of the Subhadra Yojana to mark the occasion of International Women’s Day.
Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi distributed Rs 5,000 each to over 1 crore women beneficiaries at a special event held at Ambapua in Berhampur.
The government has spent approximately Rs 5,000 crore to provide financial assistance to women under the scheme.
In this second installment of Subhadra Yojana, 1 crore 64 thousand women beneficiaries will receive the financial aid.
The event began with guests paying floral tributes to the statues of Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra, and Devi Subhadra.
Prominent figures present at the event included Deputy Chief Ministers Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo and Pravati Parida, Law Minister Prithviraj Harichandan, Minister of Fisheries & Animal Resources Development Gokulananda Mallik, Minister of Commerce and Transport Bibhuti Bhusan Jena, Aska MP Anita Subhadarshini, Berhampur Lok Sabha Member Pradeep Kumar Panigrahy, and District Collector Dibya Jyoti Parida.
The Subhadra Yojana aims to provide financial security to women in Odisha, empowering them and improving their overall well-being.
