Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government will release funds under the Subhadra Yojana to new eligible beneficiaries on March 8, 2026, coinciding with International Women’s Day, Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida, who holds the Women and Child Development portfolio, said on Saturday.
The Subhadra Portal has been opened for women who will turn 21 years old by April 1, 2025. These beneficiaries can now submit their applications online or through their smartphones.
According to Deputy Chief Minister Parida, women who missed applying earlier for any reason are now eligible to do so.
However, individuals who were rejected in previous surveys conducted by government teams due to ineligibility are advised not to apply. Eligible applicants must submit the same documents as required in earlier applications.
“The application window may be extended by one month to accommodate all eligible women,” Parida added. Once verified, the newly eligible beneficiaries will receive two installments of financial assistance on March 8, 2026.
The Subhadra Yojana is part of the Odisha government’s ongoing efforts to empower women by providing financial support as they enter adulthood. The scheme aims to improve the welfare of young women by supporting their education, health, and overall development.
