Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government on Sunday transferred Re 1 to the bank accounts of Subhadra beneficiaries who have already applied for the scheme on a trial basis to verify the authenticity of bank accounts and ensure seamless disbursement.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch the yojana in Bhubaneswar on his birthday on September 17. Those who have applied on or before September 15 will receive their first installment of Rs 5,000 on the same day.
However, all other beneficiaries will also receive the assistance after their registration process is completed, said Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida.
She reassured applicants that the registration and form fill-up process would continue until all eligible beneficiaries are included. “Applicants who apply after September 17 will also receive the funds. There’s no need to panic,” she said.
So far, approximately 60 lakh women have applied for the scheme. The BJP government, led by Chief Minister Mohan Majhi, aims to enroll at least 1 crore women under the State government’s ambitious women-centric scheme.
“Re 1 was transferred to the beneficiary’s account today on a trial basis. We want to ensure the funds reach the intended beneficiaries. This verification process will prevent any misuse. As a woman, I’m confident that women will utilize the funds wisely “, Parida said.
The initiative will strengthen and empower women in Odisha while fulfilling PM Modi’s vision of women-centric development.”
