Bhubaneswar: The Kendrapara district administration has withheld the remuneration of three people on charges of demanding money for availing Subhadra Yojana application forms from the beneficiaries.
The administration has withheld the remuneration of Anganwadi worker Puspalata Panda for allegedly demanding money from beneficiaries during distribution of Subhadra forms. Similarly, an order has been issued to withhold the remuneration of an Anganwadi worker in Sardeipur, for not giving forms to the beneficiaries. Action has also been taken against two public service centers in Derabish for asking for money to provide forms.
Meanwhile, the Additional Secretary of Women and Child Development Department has written a letter to the District Collectors of seven districts to initiate action against people demanding money for the Subhadra Yojana application forms. The letter has been sent to the District Collectors of Balasore, Bhadrak, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Jajpur, Kendrapara and Puri.
The state government has, meanwhile decided to launch an awareness campaign from September 7 to 16 to disseminate information regarding the Subhadra Yojana. A decision in this regard was taken in a meeting chaired by the Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja on the progress of Subhadra Yojana. An awareness Rath will be launched on Saturday and it cover all areas of the state to provide information and alert the beneficiaries.
The meeting decided that one Nodal Officer will be in charge of the awareness campaign in each block.
