Bhubaneswar: Odisha Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida on Saturday announced that the third phase of financial assistance under the Subhadra Yojana will be credited directly to beneficiaries’ bank accounts by the end of November. This phase will cover all those who were previously excluded, including Anganwadi workers.
Parida reassured that the government aims to support approximately 1.20 crore women beneficiaries by December end, with a fourth phase also in the pipeline. This move is part of the Odisha government’s flagship program, launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on September 17, 2024, to empower women.
Parida has brought clarity to the inclusion of Anganwadi workers in the Subhadra Yojana, confirming that all previously excluded individuals will receive assistance in the third phase.
Speaking to the media, Parida said, “A high-level committee meeting was held to address the issue of 2.67 lakh women beneficiaries who were initially rejected for various reasons. As per the decision taken in the meeting, a three-member committee comprising the Block Development Officer (BDO), Tehsildar, and District Social Welfare Officers (DSWs) will re-verify the details of all rejected applicants. This rigorous process aims to guarantee that no genuine beneficiary is left out. Our government’s goal is to ensure that every deserving beneficiary receives support under the scheme.”
