Bhubaneswar: Renowned sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik showcased his talent by creating a magnificent 15-foot sand sculpture of the Konark Temple at the ‘Utkarsh Odisha’ – Make in Odisha Conclave venue in Bhubaneswar on Tuesday.
The sand artwork was designed to welcome Prime Minister Narendra Modi and industry delegates attending the event.
Sharing his creation on his social media platform X, Sudarsan Pattnaik described the artwork as a tribute to the iconic Konark Temple, featuring intricate details, stunning view of the temple.
On the left side of the artwork, the ‘Utkarsh Odisha’ logo was prominently displayed and the borders were designed with a vibrant Sambalpuri touch, adding to its cultural appeal.
In his social media post, Pattnaik wrote: “Odisha has emerged as a preferred destination for investors. Today, Hon’ble Prime Minister @narendramodi ji will inaugurate Utkarsh Odisha. Replica of Konark my sandart for the Make in Odisha Conclave 2025 at Janta Maidan, #Bhubaneswar.”

The sand artist highlighted the significance of the event, emphasizing that it marks a major step for Odisha as a growing hub for investment.
“Investors from all over the world have arrived here today. Exhibitions ranging from art and culture to tourism have been organized. Odisha is known for its art and culture,” he said.
The two-day ‘Make in Odisha’ Conclave, scheduled from January 28th to 29th, serves as a critical platform for industry leaders, investors, and policymakers to discuss the myriad opportunities Odisha offers as a preferred investment destination.
With the inauguration of the flagship Global Investment Summit by Prime Minister Modi, the event aims to position Odisha as a key player in the Purvodaya vision—driving industrial growth and attracting investments to the state.
This conclave is expected to cement Odisha’s status as one of India’s leading industrial hubs and an emerging destination for global investment.
