Puri: Renowned sand artist Sudarshan Patnaik on Sunday created a 100-foot tall Shanta Claus made of sandstone and onion on the eve of Christmas. The sand art comes with the message of ‘Gift a Plant, Green Earth’.
The Salta Claus is claimed to be the world’s largest onion sculpture and uses two tons of onions. The sculpture is 100 feet long, 20 feet high and 40 feet wide. It took Sudarshan Patnaik and his students about 8 hours to complete the sculpture.
Meanwhile, Manas Sahu Sand Art Park has built various awareness-raising sand arts on the Puri beach on the occasion of Christmas. In his sand Santa Claus sculpture, Manas Sahu has spread the message of ‘Save Tree’. Manas’ sand sculpture can be seen on the golden beach near Puri Light House.
