Puri: Internationally acclaimed sand artist Padma Shri Sudarsan Pattanaik has created the world’s biggest sand art of 43.2″ ft long and 35ft wide chariot at the Puri beach, a day before the Rath Yatra of Lord Jagannath and his siblings.
Due to the Covid pandemic devotees are not allowed to take part in the Rath Yatra this year as last year.
Every year Pattnaik creates sand art of Lord Jagannath at Puri beach. This year he has created sand art in a unique way.
Pattnaik with his students created this 3D sand art where he shows the Nandighosha chariot of Lord Jagannath in 8 hours.
“I appeal to different organisations to set this as the world’s biggest sand chariot”, said Pattanaik.
Pattanaik holds many Limca records including a Guinness record.
“I would like to appeal to all the devotees to stay home and pray to Lord Jagannath to save us from this pandemic,” said Pattanaik.
Pattanaik has created some sand sculptures of Lord Jagannath in London, America etc.
So far Pattanaik has participated in more than 60 international championships and festivals around the world and won many awards for the country.
He always tries to spread awareness through his sand art.
