Puri: Renowned sand artist Sudarshan Pattnaik, a Padma Shri awardee, unveiled a stunning sand sculpture of a sacred Shivling at Puri Beach on Monday evening, marking the auspicious occasion of Maha Shivaratri.
The intricate artwork features a majestic Shivling surrounded by 17,000 Rudraksha beads and 500 miniature Shivlings, symbolizing devotion, faith, and spiritual unity.
The sculpture, set against a scenic backdrop of sea waves, depicts Lord Shiva in a meditative posture, adding to the spiritual ambiance of the holy coastal town. Hundreds of devotees and tourists gathered to witness the artwork and offer prayers, with the sculpture quickly drawing attention on social media.
Pattnaik, known for his thematic sand installations, has once again used his art to celebrate India’s rich spiritual heritage. The sand art installation will remain on display for devotees visiting the beach during the festival period.
