Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has appointed Sudhakar Burgi, a retired IAS officer and current member of the Odisha Staff Selection Commission (OSSC), as the new Chairman of the OSSC.
The appointment follows the acceptance of the resignation of Abhay from the post of Chairman.
In an official notification issued by the General Administration and Public Grievance Department, the government confirmed, “After careful of the representation dated 19.05.2025 of Shri Abhay, Government have been pleased to accept the resignation of Shri Abhay, Chairman, Odisha Staff Selection Commission with immediate effect.”
Additionally, the department issued a second notification stating, “Shri Sudhakar IAS(Retd.), Member, Odisha Staff Selection Commission is allowed to act as the Chairman, Odisha Staff Selection Commission, Bhubaneswar in addition to his own duties until further orders.”
Burgi will continue to carry out his own duties while serving as the Chairman of the OSSC until further instructions are issued.
