Bhubaneswar: The Sambalpur and Jharsuguda district administrations in Odisha have extended the summer vacations of the schools by a day in view of the prevailing severe heatwave conditions in the region. Instead on June 21, now the schools in Sambalpur and Jharsuguda districts will now re-open on June 22.
Moreover, classes in the schools in these two districts will be held from 6.30 am to 10.00 am from June 22 to June 24.
From June 26, the schools will follow normal schedules and any change in the timings will be notified by the Sambalpur and Jharsuguda district administrations.
Meanwhile, the state government has asked the District Collectors of Sundargarh, Sambalpur, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Angul, Sonepur, and Balangir to either switch to morning classes or extend holidays in view of the prevailing heat wave conditions.
