Sundargarh: The district police have arrested two hardcore members of People’s Liberation Front of India (PLFI) from Kadobahal under Raibaga police station limits of Sundargarh district.
Sundargarh SP Sagarika Nath said in a press meet on Friday that the two accused were in possession of weapons belong to PLFI group leader Jayadhar who was encountered by Jharkhand Police. The duo was also associated with PLFI, a splinter group of the Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-M).
Based on intelligence reports, the district police with the DVF (District Voluntary Force ) organised a cordon and search operation last night. When the team reached the house of Raju Kindo(38), they found it locked. In a bid to escape, Raju fired at the team but was later overpowered. He then directed to the house of Sanamunu Sahoo (45) of the same village.
Apart from the pistol, 1 carbine, 4 numbers of single-shot country-made and 1 double shot, country-made small arms were found hidden underneath a bush near Raju’s house. Live ammunition and cash were also seized.
Raju had six cases lodged against him at Raibaga police station and one at Birmitrapur police station
Sundargarh SP Sagarika Nath said that the police were on a lookout for these two hardcore criminals for a long time.
