Bhubaneswar: Sundargarh and Sambalpur districts are likely to experience extremely heavy rainfall today under the influence of a low-pressure area that has formed over the north Bay of Bengal and adjoining areas, according to the prediction of the India Meteorological Department.
The regional weather office has issued orange warning to these districts.
Going by the IMD forecast, the low-pressure system is expected to move in a west-northwest direction over the next 24 hours, bringing heavy rain to various parts of Odisha. Apart from Sundergarh and Sambalpur, other districts likely to be affected include Deogarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Jharsuguda, Angul, Boudh, Sonepur, Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangapur, and Kalahandi, where heavy rainfall is predicted.
