Sundargarh Gang Rape Case: 3 Accused Convicted By Keonjhar Court, Awarded 20-Yr RI

Keonjhar: Pronouncing its verdict on the 2017 gang rape case registered by Bisra Police Station (PS) in Sundargarh district, Keonjhar District and Sessions Court today convicted three culprits and sentenced them to 20 years of rigorous imprisonment (RI).

As per reports, each convict has also been fined with Rs 5,000 by the court while a convict has been sentenced to an additional three months of RI along with another amount of fine slapped on him as he had threatened the rape survivor after committing the crime and arrested.

The three convicts are Rajesh Lakra, Ninhia Lakra and Ajit Gudia.

As per the FIR lodged by the married woman, she was dragged to a lonely spot under Bisra PS limits and was gangraped while she was on her way back home from paddy field.
