Sundargarh Man Held For Hacking Son To Death

Rourkela: Koira police on Monday arrested a murder accused man of Kalta area under its limits for allegedly hacking his son to death and dumping the body in a nearby forest.

Police investigation has revealed the murder to be an outcome of persistent family feud.

While the arrested man has been identified as Santosh Dang, deceased Somoram was the son of Santosh’s first wife.

After killing Somoram, Santosh and his second wife allegedly dumped the body in a nullah of nearby forest, police said.

As per the investigation, Somoram habitually picked a quarrel in a drunken state with his family members. On the fateful day, the daily disturbance turned extremely violent following which Santosh took up an axe and hacked his son to death on the spot.

Later, the accused father in association with his second wife dumped the body in the nearby forest after tying the hands and legs of the body to a sling.

On being informed from some sources, Koira police rushed to the spot, seized the decomposed body for autopsy and basing on the statements of the villagers, apprehended the suspected father.

During interrogation, the accused confessed to the crime following which the axe used in executing the crime has also been seized.
