Sundargarh: The Sundargarh police in Odisha have swung into action to trace the family members of the two women who were rescued in the city a few days ago. These two women – mother and daughter aged about 46 years and 27 years respectively, were walking naked on the streets of Sundargarh when local MLA Kusum Tete rescued them and sent the duo to Adarsh Gruha.
During preliminary investigation, police found that the women hailed from Kharibhal village under Tumla police station limits in Chhattisgarh, not Jharkhand. Police are currently recording the statements of the two women
The elder woman told the police that both mother and daughter were mentally disturbed after the death of the woman’s husband. A brother-in-law of the woman named Mithun has been exploiting them sexually since the death of her husband. Moreover, the woman’s relations with other family members, including her elder sister, have not been cordial as the latter is also not in sound mental condition.
