Sundargarh Reserve Police Armoury Theft: Constable Arrested, 4 Magazines, 60 Rounds Recovered

**Sundargarh:** Town Police Station (PS) sleuths today successfully solved the Reserve Police Armoury theft case by arresting a constable and recovering all the stolen magazines as well as the 60 rounds of bullets from a spot near the Reserve Police Line.

The arrested police constable has been identified as Gulshan Kiro. He has been placed under suspension while disciplinary proceedings to be initiated against another officials if found guilty.

Briefing media, Sundargarh SP Soumya Mishra said, “Case no 256 was registered by Town PS on 26.11.2018 under Section 380 IPC. FIR was filed as 4 magazines and some rounds of ammunition were stolen.
Investigation revealed that one police guy was also involved in the case. All 4 magazines and 60 rounds have been recovered. Investigation is still on. We’ll be exploring all the angles to determine the cause behind the crime while the constable has been arrested and placed under suspension.”

“We are trying to determine the lapse in this case. If carelessness is found committed by the officials in charge of the armoury, departmental proceedings will also be initiated against them. The recovery of the stolen bullets has been made from a spot near the Reserve Police Line,” informed the SP.

Notably, Kiro was detained yesterday by the Town PS on the charges of stealing 60 live bullets from the Sundergarh Reserve Police Armoury. The theft had been noticed on November 26 and a complaint was lodged with the Town PS.
