Sundargarh: A tragic incident unfolded in Lunga village under Mahul Pada police station in Sundargarh district, where a domestic dispute between two brothers turned fatal.
The elder brother, Gamiya Munda, was killed after being shot with an arrow by his younger brother, Sanatan Munda, following a heated argument on Saturday.
According to reports, the brothers had a history of conflicts. Today altercation between the two escalated, Sanatan pulled out a bow and arrow from their home and in a fit of rage allegedly shot Gamiya, who succumbed to his injuries on the spot.
Overcome with guilt or distress after the act, Sanatan consumed poison, leaving him in critical condition. He was promptly rescued and admitted to Bonai Sub Divisional Hospital. Mahulpada police have seized Gamiya’s body and sent it for autopsy, while maintaining a vigil at the hospital where Sanatan is being treated.
Police stated that further investigation and interrogation of Sanatan will proceed once he recovers.
The incident has left the village in shock, with locals grappling with the loss and the circumstances surrounding the tragedy.
