Sundargarh: In a shocking incident, a minor girl was allegedly raped repeatedly for 14 days by a youth at a rented house under the Talasara police jurisdiction.
The victim, who had gone missing 14 days ago, returned home and revealed everything to her family members.
According to the police, the victim and the accused were acquainted with each other. The accused had offered to drop the victim off at her relative’s house on his bike, but instead took her to a rented house in a different village, where he allegedly raped her repeatedly.
In the meantime, the victim’s family had lodged a missing complaint with the Talasara police after failing to trace her. After the victim’s return, her family members lodged a written complaint with the police, leading to the arrest of the accused.
On the other hand, police took the victim for medical examination and recorded her statement before the magistrate.
Sadar Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Nirmal Mohapatra stated that a police investigation is underway to determine whether the accused acted alone or had any accomplices in committing the crime.
