**Bhubaneswar: ** Even though Industrialist Mahimananda Mishra (Mahima Mishra) had sought modification of the Supreme Court’s order on the refusal of bail to him, his review petition has reportedly been dismissed by the apex court.
Mahima Mishra is behind the bars now after his bail, granted by Orissa High Court, was rejected by Supreme Court on September 18 this year.
The Supreme Court on September 18 has rejected the bail granted to him by Orissa High Court in connection with the murder of Paradip-based general manager of Seaways Shipping and Logistics Limited two years ago.
On July 16 this year, the Orissa High Court had granted him conditional bail in the case following which the Odisha Government had moved the apex court against the High Court verdict. The State Government had filed the application in the apex court seeking rejection of bail to Mishra citing that he might influence the witnesses in the murder case against him.
The two judge bench comprising Justice Manohar Sapre and UU Lalit had pronounced the bail rejction verdict on September 18.
Odisha Government’s counsel Siba Mishra had said then that the court observed Mahima Mishra had fled from the country after he was charged in the case. So, there was every possibility that he might leave India again for which he must be re-arrested forthwith during his bail-out stint.
