Bhubaneswar: Senior Congress leader Sura Routray returned to the party after a nine-month hiatus, on Saturday. Routray’s homecoming was marked by his visit to the office of the Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC), where he met with the newly elected PCC president Bhakta Charan Das.
Following his return to the party, he thanked Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, All India Congress Committee (AICC) Mallikarjun Kharge and PCC Chief Bhakta Charan Das.
In an emotional statement, Routray said, “I have returned home, and I’m extremely happy. I feel a deep sense of connection to the Congress Bhawan, which I consider my temple. It’s a sacred space where I worship the ideals of Jawaharlal Nehru, and I am thrilled to be back.”
He called upon senior party workers to come together and work in unison to strengthen the party base, emphasizing the need for unity and collective effort to revitalize the organization. By putting aside individual differences and working towards a common goal, he urged them to focus on rebuilding and consolidating the party’s grassroots presence.
