Bhubaneswar: The three-day-long children’s fest, Suravi concluded today. Participating in the closing ceremony, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik inspired the children to raise their thought level. Over 2000 students from different districts took part in this festival organised at the Govt High School at Unit 9 here.
Speaking on the occasion the Chief Minister said that our children have infinite talent. Our students are gifted in all fields including dance, singing, sports, art, innovation and science, he added.
“Work hard to move ahead, raise your thought level. Try to take your capabilities to the world level. You see you will earn glory in the entire country and the world for your infinite success,” Patnaik said.
Highlighting the transformation of Odisha, the Chief Minister said that the era of transformation in the state has started from schools.
“Children are now learning through digital technology. The environment of the school has also become very beautiful. There is also a nice playground. You are no less than anyone,” he added.
Wishing the children a bright future, the Chief Minister said, “I have full faith, your future will be bright. My blessings are and will be with you”.
Appreciating the ‘Suravi’programme, the Chief Minister said that it is a very nice festival.
He said, “Children from across the state have gathered here, have shown their talent by taking part in different competitions, have made new friends. Experience gained here will inspire them for their whole life”.
The Chief Minister congratulated the children who won prizes. It is worth mentioning here that this year 3549 children were given ‘Odia Bhasa Bruti’. Each child got a one-time scholarship of Rs 5,000. The scholarship amount was transferred to their account online. The scholarship is awarded to the students who have secured the highest marks in the matriculation examination conducted by the Board of Secondary Education.
The Chief Minister felicitated the top five awardees in the State.
These five are Subhasmita Das of SBS Nikhireswar Nodal High School, Balasore, Naina Pradhan of Government Nodal High School, Kamagaon, Bargarh, Prabhasini Mishra of Arei Baruneshwar High School, Jajpur, Shubhankar Patabandh of Mayurbhanj Gadia Chintamani Nodal Vidyapeeth and Dibyasha Palei of Banbishnupur High School, Balasore.
In addition to this, the Chief Minister awarded the Suravi Award to three differently-abled students namely Umakant Dash of Kendrapara, Rashmi Mahali of Sundargarh and Poornima Bhue of Sambalpur.
The Chief Minister unveiled the Mo School coffee table book and a newsletter on the occasion.
Minister of School Education, Sudam Marndi, who was present at the event, said that the Chief Minister always gives importance to children.
Marndi said that today’s child is tomorrow’s future.
“Keeping in mind the future of children, the Chief Minister started 5T school transformation,” he informed.
MLAs Anant Narayan Jena and Susant Rout took part in the programme.
Departmental Secretary Ashwathi S delivered the welcome address and OSEPA’s Project Director Anupam Saha gave vote of thanks.
