Bhubaneswar: Odisha Vigilance sleuths unearthed disproportionate assets worth crores of rupees on Friday during house searches at three locations linked to Brajendra Kumar Nayak, a suspended former Civil Supplies Officer, Nayagarh in Odisha.
The ongoing raids by Vigilance sleuths helped to unearth five multi-storied buildings in Bhubaneswar, one farmhouse, one market complex with 10 shops, and a 2000 sqft hall at Nimapara in Puri belonging to Nayak. Bank deposits of Rs 60 lakh and one four-wheeler were also seized from the possession of the accused.
The following assets have been unearthed in the name of Nayak and his family members during house searches so far:
- One double-storeyed residential building at plot No. A/L-55 in Bhimatangi Housing Board Colony, Aerodrome Area, Bhubaneswar.
- A triple-storeyed building on plot No.384/2328, Khata No.604/381 near Rajarani Colony, Bhubaneswar.
- One building each at Lewis Road and Sishupalagarh in Bhubaneswar.
- One farmhouse on plot No 202, Khata No 338/28, Ac 1.62 decimal and plot No.214, Khata No.338/27, area Ac 0.29 decimal at Sunugoradi, Nimapara, Puri.
- One market complex with 10 shops at Nimapara, Puri, and a hall given on rent to Odisha Gramya Bank (2000 sqft).
The measurement and valuation/assessment of the above buildings/farmhouse/market complex is being carried out by Vigilance Technical Wing.
In addition, bank deposits of Rs 60 lakh, and one four-wheeler (Honda Amaze) and 2 two-wheelers were seized from Nayak’s possession.
The searches are continuing and a further report is awaited.
