Bhubaneswar: Odisha has achieved a proud moment in the Swachh Survekshan Awards 2024-25, with its commitment to urban cleanliness earning national recognition.
ASKA NAC and Chikiti NAC in Ganjam district have received the Swachh Sehar Award in the 50,000-20,000 population category and less than 20,000 population category, respectively, from the President of India. Additionally, Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation was recognised as the Promising Swachh Shehar of Odisha by the Union Minister of Housing and Urban Affairs.
The awards were received in the presence of Dr. Krushna Chandra Mahapatra, Minister of Housing and Urban Development Department, Government of Odisha, along with senior officials and ULB representatives. Notably, Bhubaneswar has been ranked among the Top 10 cleanest cities in India, securing Rank 9 in the prestigious Swachh Survekshan 2024.
Chief Minister Mohan Majhi congratulated the Housing and Urban Development department for Odisha’s stellar performance in the Swachh Survekshan Awards 2024-25, attributing the success to the department’s relentless efforts, effective leadership, and community-driven approach towards urban cleanliness.
The CM expressed appreciation to officers, ULB representatives, sanitation workers, and citizens who made this achievement possible, calling for continued efforts to build a Swachh and Samruddha Odisha
