Cuttack: Swift action by RPF and GRP staff on duty at the railway station here on Wednesday could avert a major tragedy and save a precious human life.
The Janshatabdi Express arrived at platform no.1 of Cuttack railway station at 6.25 AM today and after its scheduled stoppage started to move at 6.30 AM.
One RK Sahoo, a passenger aged about 40 years while trying to board coach no. CE-1 slipped and almost fell in the gap between the platform and the train.
Witnessing the tragedy unfold before their eyes Jagannath Murmu of RPF and Hemant Kumar Sahoo of GRP who were on duty acted swiftly and saved the life of the passenger RK Sahoo.
During enquiry by the railways, it was found that the passenger was travelling to Balasore from Cuttack for some official work.
The heroic act of the RPF and GRP has been highly appreciated by one and all.
