Bhubaneswar: Santosh Kumar Sahoo, Assistant Executive Engineer, RWSS, Talcher, was caught by vigilance sleuths on Tuesday while demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 50,000 from a contractor to clear his bills.
Following it, vigilance sleuths conducted simultaneous searches at his Government Quarter at Talcher; residential building at Plot No K-407 at Kalinga Vihar in Bhubaneswar; and paternal house at Bhapur in Nayagarh.
A case in this regard has been registered at Cuttack Vigilance Police Station under section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 (PC Act) as amended by the PC (Amendment) Act, 2018. Further investigation is underway.
