Cuttack: Tanushree Behera, a person belonging to the transgender community is contesting as a candidate for the post of Corporator from Ward no. 38 in the elections to the Cuttack Municipal Corporation scheduled to be held on March 24.
Like any other candidate contesting the polls, Tanushree is visiting each and every house in the Ward seeking votes for her. She is contesting as an independent candidate.
Tanushree has stated that she has been living in the area ever since she left her home and is well acquainted with the issues of the area and the problems faced by the people of the locality.
She claimed that she is contesting the election to find a solution to those on being elected. She said that she neither has the backing of any political party nor money power.
Tanushree has expressed confidence that residents of her Ward will bless her to victory. She has been working hard to develop the living standard of the members of her community.
Tanushree has been sensitizing members of her community in the city against begging in trains and indulging in immoral and anti-social activities.
For such activities, Tanushree is popular among the residents of the city.
Residents of her Ward have welcomed Tanushree’s move to contest for the post of Corporator in the elections to the Cuttack Municipal Corporation.
