Bhubaneswar: Inaugurating the Bootcamp, Satyabrata Sahu, Additional Chief Secretary, Department of Revenue and Disaster management, informed that Blockchain, a distributed ledger technology, enables a layer of trust and eliminates the need for a third party to validate the transactions.
He told that Land Records system including Land Registration, Mutation, Bhunaksha etc. is a best sector to implement Blockchain. It will increase trust, auditability, traceability and immutability of data.
Guest of Honour Madhusmita Sahu, Joint Secretary, Department of Revenue and Disaster management, informed that Blockchain Technology’s unique combination of cryptography and distributed peer-to-peer network of nodes allows data to be maintained and validated in a trusted ecosystem.
She added that pilot can be implemented in the state taking Unique Land Parcel Identification No (ULPIN) as the unique Blockchain ID for integration of Land Record.
Participating in the Bootcamp as Guest of Honour, S Jayanthi, DDG & Head, Centre of Excellence, Blockchain, Bengaluru, highlighted initiatives of the Centre including Certificate Chain, Document Chain, Property Chain, Drug Logistics, Remote Voting etc.
She informed that as a part of the project for Unified Blockchain Framework setup is being created at Bangalore, Hyderabad, Bhubaneswar and Pune.
In the beginning, SK Mohapatra, Deputy Director General and Head (Training), welcoming all informed that NIC has established the Centre of Excellence(CoE) in Blockchain to operate as a coordinated, interoperable blockchain ecosystem around the nation, allowing all partners to benefit from shared learning, experiences and resources.
Dr Ashok Kumar Hota, DDG and State Informatics Officer offering Vote of Thanks wished that in sync with 5T initiatives of Govt of Odisha steps to implement blockchain technology in various
domains will pave the way for paperless, faceless, contactless and intermediary-less Government.
The workshop was coordinated by Sujata Das, Senior Director (IT) in which more than 60 officers from various departments participated.
