Teenager Dies By Suicide Over Alleged Failed Love Affair In Balangir

Balangir: Tusura police in Balangir district recovered the body of a 16-year-old boy who allegedly jumped into the Tel River, on Tuesday.

The deceased has been identified as Amlan Chhatria of Tusura village.

According to eyewitnesses, the boy had parked his bicycle on the bridge before leaping into the river.

Upon receiving information, police immediately rushed to the spot to rescue the boy. Police managed to retrieve Amlan’s body and rushed him to the Bhima Bhoi Medical College and Hospital in Balangir, where he was declared dead by the doctors.

Initial reports suggest that Amlan might have taken the extreme step due to a failed love affair. However, the exact circumstances leading to his death are still unclear. The exact cause of Amlan’s death is expected to be revealed after the post-mortem report.
