Bhubaneswar: Odisha is experiencing a notable rise in temperatures, with coastal areas seeing a 3°C increase and interior regions recording up to 7°C rise in the past four days, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
As per IMD data, the temperature in various parts of Odisha showed a significant rise as of 5:30 am today. Jharsuguda recorded a temperature of 14°C, marking a notable increase of 7.2°C. Similarly, Keonjhar saw a temperature of 14.6°C, up by 5.2°C, while Bhubaneswar recorded 14.6°C, a rise of 2.2°C.
The coastal towns witnessed a notable temperature increase. Paradip’s temperature stood at 15.4°C, marking a 3°C rise. Balasore also saw a similar increase, reaching 16°C, up by 3°C. Chandbali recorded 16.2°C, a 4°C jump. Gopalpur’s temperature was 16.8°C, up by 1.4°C, while Puri saw a 2.4°C rise, touching 18.4°C.
The rise in temperature is attributed to active western disturbances affecting the region.
